Katy Perry Says "T.G.I.F."

You may have thought "E.T." was the final single that would be released off of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. Well the album now has its fifth single "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)", can you believe more than nine months after the album was released? As if this single was her baby after an August conception.

Well there's a lot to be said about last Friday night, isn't there always? If you haven't yet, take eight minutes out of your busy day and watch Katy attempt to be attractive even as a nerd (which we assume was the inspiration for the music video). Just like the "E.T." music video copies much of Lady GaGa's style in "Born This Way", "Last Friday Night" has an eight minute story line much like so many Lady GaGa videos.

Copying GaGa yet again happens to be the least of Katy's issues with this music video. The most stunning issue at hand was the feature of 13 year-old Rebecca Black (as a tribute to her song and viral video "Friday"?). First of all, Katy, I sure hope you don't expect "Last Friday Night" to surpass the 167 million views of "Friday". In fact, right now you're at 17 million views, which is less than the amount of 'dislikes' on Black's "Friday". Heck, even less views than the dub step version of "Friday".

In your little video, you pretend you're a high school nerd who let's Rebecca Black (as herself) dress you up for one fantastic Friday night (partyin', partyin', yeah?). That would mean you act about ten years younger while Black acts ten years older. Katy, you're twice her age, you don't need to pretend to be her friend. In addition to that, why would you want to associate with her? Half the world hates her.

Well suddenly after Katy's music video was put up on YouTube, the Black family took down "Friday". Maybe Black decided YouTube can only handle one video of her at a time. But more likely, Katy was jealous of the insanely high amount of viewers Black had over her video, and put a cold end to the "Friday" madness. Either way, Katy gave Rebecca Black (and Kenny G, Corey Feldman, Debbie Gibson and some Glee stars) another couple of minutes (eight to be exact) of fame by featuring them in "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)".
